Good idea zird. I did all the parts you mentioned myself. I paid 250.00 to the powderoater. I'm pretty new to big mechanical jobs. All those parts were easy to remove/install with a service manual. I had the lower forks and wheels done by a professional. Plus, the dealer may not want to hold on to your tree-less bike while it gets powdercoated.

[QUOTE=JRK5892;4730344]that is insane! i have no idea how he can do that and cover his prep and cost fee's! no way! he must not blast or prep just shoot over the metal, in this case rattle can will be more durrable than un prepped powder...

Actually he does blast and does beautiful work! Maybe you've heard of him?

ELITE ELECTRO COATINGS in Lansing Michigan. He does oh.........about 85% of all Baker Transmissions which of course are built on the east side of Lansing in Haslett. Something tells me he knows what he's doing! They do black everyday so the turn around is about 2 days.

Stealer will charge you out the *** to take all that **** off. I agree. Remember that powder coat has to cure at like 600+ DEGREES. No plastic, bondo, lead, etc.

My best advice: Find a shop that will take their time doing all the prep work correctly and give you a good durable powder coat. It will cost more but nothing pizzes you off worse than having to disassemble the bike again and take the $hit back because the coat is coming off. Same goes for chrome shops.
