what side was it laying over on? if i was on the exhaust side it was hit or pushed over. if it was on the kickstand side then there are a few things that could of happened 1. didnt engauge the stand far enough 2. kickstand might of sank in the parking lot enough to tip3. or last some a$$hole pushed it over. might want to go check and see if there is a pivot mark were the kickstand was to see if it sank, so if there is one it might give you a little closer. but dam i feel for you or the a$$hole who pushed it over if they did and you catch them. man that suxs. jackyl
Same thing happened to me in a parking lot at work (Progressive Insurance!) about a week after I bought my bike.
Ended up fixing everything myself with used parts from Fleabay since I did want to file a claim.
Went out after work and my bike was on its side. Asked security to look at the video and they actually saw a pickup truck back up and hit the bike then take off. To top it off, a blonde was driving....Go figure!
But of course the video was too grainy to get a license plate # or anything else that would have helped me nail the dumb cu*t.
I feel for ya man. I wish people like that would simply burst into flames at the mere sound of a Harley. Then I'd surely carry around a bag of Marshmallows!
When you find him.....knock his *** down and castrate him on the spot. Save his ***** in a glass jar as a reminder to other mindless dipsh!ts not to ever touch your ride.
I really couldnt blame somebody for running after hitting a parked Harley, mine anyway. Most people would expect to get thier *** kicked for doing so. If it ever happens to me I hope I dont catch the person because I'll probably get arrested and risk doing some time for the beating I dish out. Every hear the saying "shoot first, ask questions later?" thats me.
Rook: With a $500 comp deductible it was cheaper for me to replace the parts myself (grip, rear turn signal, fender). Why would you file a claim if you can fix it for less than the ded??
Lucy: Most of the people that have bought Harleys during the great sales boom a few years ago are yuppies (doctors, lawyers etc..) that bought one for their "manly image". Not exactly the types that will "kick your ***!"
Besides, remember when only bad-asses got tattoos? Now every person out there has one.
