Hey all, I called my local HD dealer to check availability and price for the “sterling silver” anniversary paint. The parts manager told me that the only sterling silver paint available is in the very small touch up bottle & nothing else, not even quarts. The Vivid Black is widely available in everything including spray cans, but the silver isn’t. My question is: Does anyone know what PPG (code) color matches the HD 03 sterling silver? I am painting the tops of a set of HD hard bags to install on my WG. Thanks for any help. Bob

If you dont have any luck with the code, find a PPG Jobber that supplies to body shops and see if they can try a " camera shot " on it . The camera reads the color from 4 different angles and produces a formula that the jobber can mix for you. I have it done once or twice a month by my Sikkens rep when none of the variants are close on a car that I am fixing ,or if the vehicle had a repaint and no one knows what color code /color change.it was.
you dont Have to go with PPG ,any Jobber with quality paint that is willing to mix you a pint by a camera shot would work. But if PPG is what is on the bike, it may read and suggest the exact OEM mix formula for the bike. Good luck
1-800-647-6050 Is PPGs tech line. I just called them yesterday I remember there was a selection for paint codes. They are very helpful and I wasn't on hold for more than 30 seconds.
i am inthe process right now of matching that exact paint... only i am doing it with powder... Harley is a stickler about thier paint codes and relasing them
