Default dyna powdercoat problem?
I have a 2005 superglide with grey stains on my primary and silver powder coated engine. I tried many cleaners and various techniques to get it off. The dealer told me I need to change the covers but I dont want to go chrome.
Has any one else had this problem and what did you do?

Well, from the picture in your signature, it appears that you're not afraid to get the bike out during the winter. Makes me think road salt may be the culprit. Also makes me think that you're screwed and will need to replace covers if you want it to look good.

I was actually just charging the battery that day.

Could it be that you used some form of cleaner on it before you noticed the stain? With a light colored powdercoat like silver or gray, you probably should only use mild soap and water to clean it as some cleaners have chemicals that are not good use on everything.

I got same issues in some parts of powdr gray parts, I see them now as birth marks.

I had a fuel leak and the gas left a perminant stain on top of my primary,

How's about buying some HD Silver paint and re-spraying the covers?

Should be pretty cheap to do.....

I think it might be fuel also, because my bike was running rich when it appeared.
