If your talkng bout the caps on top of the trees I removed mine with an adjustable wrench real carefully. If your talking about the caps on top of the sliders I'm not sure, sorry.....
Thanks for the hot tip last week Paul. NAPA had one in stock. Installed the Ricor's with the Triple Rate Works Performance kit. It's a really nice set up.
mjsawatzky, if you use a socket, it won't damage your finish I don't THINK, but, you could use the crescent wrench with a rag around your cap, but it'll prolly be harder to get back on than with the socket.
Thanks Guys. I've never been in there before, i've read the instructions but not too sure what to expect. Is it going to get messy? Any tips on how much fork oil I might have to add? Thanks.
http://www.progressivesuspension.com...rings/3055.pdf My level was low from the factory, with a different spring it changes the level[ tighter wound and larger diameter] In this link they recommend 5.5 inches, that is with forks compressed and springs out.

Had my bro apply down force to the cap with a large wooden dowel. Wadded a big rag atop the dowel to save his hands. I stabilized the dowel on the cap with my left hand, swung a 12" Crescent with my right. HAVE HELP! It takes about 50-75 pounds of force to hold that cap down (removal or install), and there were a lot fewer threads than I was expecting, so be ready.
