Exclamation Big radius install problem gents

So I started trying to get the rear pipe fitted per instructions, which say not to tighten anything up. Instructions say to put the bolts into the rear bracket with the nut plates.
However, I cannot get the bolts into the rear bracket... the pipe needs to move forward.
So, I decided to try and tighten the pipe into the head to bring in forward.
That did bring the pipe forward but still not enough. Could be 3/16 - 1/4 " off.
Also, I do have new exhaust gaskets in the heads.

Have any of you self installers run into that or had to slot the holes in your bracket ?

Kinda frustrated at the moment.
Thanks.

Is this the 2into2 pipe, or the 2into1 pipe that your having difficulty with?

I put the 2-1 on my fat bob. My main "headache" was actually getting the header lined up with cylinders with the collars lined up with the studs. After that it was smooth sailing.

I just did mine last weekend and ran into the same problem. What I did was loosen up the bracket a lot, bolt it to the bracket then tighten down the bracket. If you need more let me know.

It helps to have a "strong" friend with you when it's time to install, these pipes cost me a thumbnail and a "big" hunk of skin off the back of my hand, well worth it when installed, but the design could use some work, makes me wonder how they design these things, they must shrink or pull back when welded and chromed

Sorry, forgot to say they are the 2 in 2.

Painguy, I'll loosen the bracket a little to see if I can get any slop out of it, though I don't think there was very much. I'll slot the holes if I have to, don't want to put it in a huge bind.

Just wanted to know if others experienced this or if there's a problem with mine.
Can't wait to hear the "Thunder" (BCT)

Thanks

I had a problem with Big Radius 2-2 and I called V&H tech services, they helped with my install. Just my .02

I thought I read on here last night, that if you install the BCTs, it is normal to have a gap. I installed the 2-2 Big Radius last summer and had an issue, but it was that the pipes were actually jacked up.

Kockdiesel, My issue isn't with the baffles, but the alignment of the the pipe mount holes to the bracket that mounts to the transmission.

Gonna give it another go in a little while. I'm determined to make it fit... one way or another... get a bigger hammer if I have to.

I had a problem with mine lining up only after I added the 6 speed a few years back. I just machined the slots longer and that was that.
