Angry Stainles steel zip ties

Can someone tell me if there is a special tool to tighten these, pulling them just doesn't keep them tight enough...

I pull the free end with a pair of pliers, as I am pushing the locking end with a flat blade screwdriver. They are not staying tight because the little tab inside the locking end is not sticking out enough to catch on the free end of the band. Bend the tab down so it is tight, and is engaging as soon as you insert the free end. Good luck.

I grab the pull tab with a pair of pliars right next to the lock and twist back towards the strap and repeat until tight enough. You can easild break the tie so don't go nuts on it! But you knew that!

there is a tool for those kind of clamps. I have one in my tool box now from way back in the days when every front wheel drive car on the road busted CV boots all the time. Same kind of clamps held a lot of those on. I can't remember the last time I used it but if someone really wanted one bad you know one is out there somewhere.

Is is like a miniature version of a banding tool, like it pulls the free end, pushes the locking end, and squeezes it at the same time?

Do you have a picture of them, or a link to a site? I've dealt with a few different types of stainless bands, all of which use special tools.
these are my favorite http://www.hosexpress.com/bandit/thr...dclampspg9.htm
