I can say this. If I had it to do over again, I'd make the chromer give me a quote on paper or at least electronically somehow. And, I'd also do as much of the work as possible on my own. I committed to doing that with my bike a year or so ago and then whimped out this time because it was just more convenient for me with all I wanted to get done. It didn't take long for my bill to add up even though my indy is very reasonable. I can't imagine what it would have cost at a HD dealer. If only I could have gotten those damned bearings out on my own, I would have done most of this myself and only taken the wheels and tires in to have them swapped over and then done the reassembly on my own. Would have saved me some cash that I could have maybe used to dress up the front end and/or the calipers.

I want a set of those wheels, not to chrome but to get powder coated black. I think they would look great on my Bob powder coated black.

Looks great- really sets your ride apart. I think chrome sliders are a must have now (one thing leads to another).

Not sure about other chromers but CP has an exchange program where they will ship chromed versions of your wheels out to you as soon as (supposedly ) they receive yours. I think the cost is a little higher (in the 700's) but you should get them back and on the bike quicker. You just have to catch them when they have your exact wheels in stock and already chromed. They sell a lot of exchanges on ebay, so you could keep an eye out there.

I bought these wheels for a couple hundred bucks when I had an opportunity to trade even for some for just cost of shipping my spokes off. Now, I'm really glad I did because my bike would have been down for 2 months by the time all was said and done. And I'm still selling my spokes for a few bucks so not all bad in the end.
