Anyone had any issues with their exhaust pipes causing problems with their Boss Bags.
My bags sit only about 1/3 of an inch over my Screamin Eagle slip ons.
I was wondering about stuff like heat deformation of the bags or excessive heat ruining stuff in the bottom of the bags?
Otherwise they seem great.
Not to sound picky but I have never heard someone use the measurement "1/3 of an inch". Is that close to 3/8"? Unless you meant "1/2" or "1/4" and just made a typo.
If you're worried about heat deformation, get creative and build a small heatshield for the external bottom of the bag. A small piece of thick sheetmetal, some rust-resistant paint (not for looks; for protection) and a couple of bolts. Buy 2 nuts each per bolt...one nut for a spacer between metal and leather and one nut on the inside of the bag to tighten it all down.
Here is the gap between my Boss Bags and Fat Cat. I would say no problems what-so-ever. I know it gets a little warm in there so put nothing there that you don't want to get a little warm. I know I had more room with my stock pipes but still not a lot. Over 23,000 miles on the bike with those bags on.

Yes, I was concerned with the same thing since mine were close to my V&H straight shots... but I switched to Big radius... problem solved.
I know that's not the answer you were looking for. They do tend to have a downward slant near the tail end.
Actually, If I had to do it over, I would have gone with the guys brother at Leather Pro. The bags are almost identical but theirs don't require an install of a "roller bearing" on your rear shocks.
Didn't know of them when I purchased the bags.
