Default Night Train Bars

Just wondering what all I will have to change to put the Night Train drag bars on my 06 Super Glide? I really like the look of the drag handlebar but not sure if I'll have to change cables. How difficult is it to move the switches and all from one set of bars to another? I've had it apart enough to replace the grips but never removed them from the bars.

It would be a easy swap, there isnt much more involed in moving the switches than when you did your grips.

If anything your stock cables will be a little long but will probally work. I am assuming here you want to put the bars and risers from the night train on.

They have about the same rise but not as much pull back and are narrower than your stock bars.

Persoanlly if you like that look, I would look for something similiar you could internal wire. It really cleans up the look and if going to have it apart why not do a few more steps.

Your bars have 6" rise 29" wide and 10" pullback, I believe. Nite train has 6" risers 27" wide and 5 1/2 pull back. They are so close that same cables will work.
If you've replaced grips, thats 90% of the work of swaping to new bars. Just mount the new bars, slip them off the old bars and onto the new.
But then there's the internal wiring decision, which involves a little more work.

Cables should work.

A bar swap is as easy as it gets, follow the torque specs and you will be fine.

I had to change the bars on my wife's sporty 3 times before she was happy.

Fortunately she likes the mini-apes on her bob so I don't have to play musical handlebars again.

Thanks to all for the replies...I really like the look of the drag bars. Unfortunately, I have the Super Glide speedometer to deal with. Just not sure how that's going to look sitting on top of the drag bars. I think it will put the speedometer even higher up than it is now and might make it stick out like a sore thumb...It already does but it would probably be worse.

as long as you do the straight risers, it'll look cool.... If you do this, you can get wild one chubby 6" risers that are 1.25" for about 40 bucks less than the H-D 1" night train ones.
see my sig.

Might give you an excuse to do something with your dash then you can move your speedo there. I think I read elsewhere on the site about "the snowball affect". lol

Check out Mudpuddles new set up since he put on the FatBob bars on. It looks great and he has the speedo and tach mounted to them.
