mine have been done 2 years...
still look GREAT! i do powder work and amazed i have not had to just tear them donw and powder them... this paint is SICK tuff if oyu do it right... but it is paint.... the touch up balck appliance paint in the stove section, looks like a little white out bottle... fills in the chips and drys just as smooth... can nto even tell a touch up...so i leave it

hears a different approach ....they sell this stuff at gun shops....aluminum black I think its called.....I think its a acid that turns aluminum black

Boskin, what sandpaper grits did you use? Do you think this would work on chromed sissy bar and sideplates?

use 400 grit... it will but you hae to really scuff it! chrome is such a slippery surface... use REAL light coats to get it to build, let it tack and then put more on ...
