It's just a dyna for pete's sake... and i own one. I HATEHATEHATE the name "Street Bob", i call it my FXDBI. It's hardly a "bobber". No, your 1000 mile break in miles arent f'n BOB specific... no your transmission problem isn't BOB specific... first it was the choppers and big stupid OCC bikes... now it's bobbers... can't wait until this fad is over.
If I would have known that It was such a big deal I would not have even created this post or poll! I didn't mean to stir **** up I just want to know if anybody felt the same way as I do. To the bob guys please don't take this the wrong way!! I meant no harm or to offend anyone!
Far as I'm concerned the admins could just delete this post!!
No need for apologies man! This is what this forum is for! To get all kinds of opinions, on all different kinds of subjects. This post has generated more views and responses than all my posts combined.
Maybe instead of a separate section for the Street Bob owners there should just be a separate section for the "less" popular Harley models. The implication by some is that some how the Bobs are less valid because they are more popular. I think it is very much the opposite. The Harley owners have voted and the Bobs are simply better in every way that counts. I always trust the ultimate poll of where people put their bucks and in that one the Bobs are winning hands down.
I like the Bob not because I am going to leave it stock but because it is the best bike mechanically HD has made and there fore is a great core from which to build out your own custom bike. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to suppress a smile when people have walked right by the same ol'e mega chromed after market Harley monster to come look at my Black Denim Street Bob. You can almost see the steam pouring out of the Softtail and FatBoy owners ears. It is like people just said their wives and girlfriends were ugley.
