How much should I expect to pay for a carb rejetting at the dealer?
I know dealer labor rates vary, but what's everyones experience?
I might just try to do it myself, and I know I can just call the dealer tomorrow, but I'm not the most patient man.
Also for do-it yourself, buy the jet from HD or elsewhere.
In my experience the jet kits are alot cheaper from elsewhere when I've gone looking. But, the HD dealerships only like to work with whatever it is they are recomending. So if you think you may be taking it to them to fix if things go wrong, you may want to buy it from them, or atleast buy the same kind.
My dealer wanted 140$ for their jet kit. I forget the brand.
If you can find a buddy or another rider that is comfortable working with carbs, an indy maybe, they can put in the kit or do a "blue collar" kit. The blue collar kit are two no. 4 brass washers under the needle and adjusting the air fuel mixture screw from lightly screwed in all the way to 2 and 1/2 turns out. I didn't change out the slow jet or main jet, there are other opinions on this. The cost, less then $5.00 in parts and my time was free. I haven't heard of too many success stories with the Dyno-Jet kits. My 2 cents.
