I Always wanted to have the Vance and Hines BR's on my bike ever since I had my 82...I have an 07 Street Bob Now with them and I absolutely love the pipe..I looked at getting the Short Shots as well but rly loved the look of the ones I have now..Everyone says that everyone has the BR's but that never mattered to me, I never see any with my pipe around where I live nor do i see that many street bobs either, and I ride a lot..Its all on you bro...youtube is a good place for clips or even just go to a harley dealership and listen to some bikes pull in maybe? Good Luck
I agree with a lot of people here there are many choices. I put Bassani pro streets and they are amazing the sound is smooth and crisp and perfect throaty sound
Short shots are good for looks and sound, not so much on the numbers.
I have them and eventually I might go to a 2 to 1 like a fat cat (so many thunderheaders out there as is)
You see a good bit of Thunderheaders on this board, but honestly, I see very few out on the road. I always get a kick out of it when the Harley guys I run into are "blah blah blah Vance & Hines blah blah blah Vance & Hines blah", then ask what I have and when I tell them, I get a blank stare.
My new boss rides a Fat Boy, and when I asked what kinda pipes he was gonna throw on, what do you think he said?
