As far as the engine, well, it's stock for now. I just don't think any amount of work I do to it is gonna make enough of a difference to be worthwhile. I'd rather just drop a couple grand on a ZRX1200R than pump it into a slow bike, ya know? I didn't buy this bike for the HP, that's for sure.
Looks good man. Glad to finally see some pics!! And I'm happy I was able to hook you up with the true track. I really like that micro tach.. thats the same one from speedway instruments, if I'm not mistaken. Is the visibility good during the day? Does it function well? I think I may have to get one of them..

Thanks dude, it's not as much of a looker as your black beast there, but it's turned out just how I wanted it. I originally wanted an FXDX-T, but I think I've done better creating my own.
Yeah that's the one, it's made by Speedway Instruments but you can it it a little cheaper from that link I posted. Free shipping too.
It does function well, but I haven't ridden with it yet. Just tested it out in my garage, the weather is finally getting nice here though so I should get a test in tomorrow. But just by testing it, I can pretty much assure you it'll work great in daylight. It's good and bright, very clear readout. I hated not having a tach on this bike, but I couldn't find a solution I liked until I saw this little guy.

Fair enough...it is a heavy bike, and H-Ds don't tend to spin up big horses. But if you ever ride one with 120 or so ft. pds. of torque, you might be surprised. HP ain't everything, especially in the twisties. OTOH I've never ridden a Harley with the likes of mudpuddle's 150+ of torque....that would be an arm-stretcher for sure!
Awesome that you made a list with a clear objective and were able to complete it! Unfortunately my list is rather long, and I made a couple of purchases along the way that didn't work out, that prolonged the process. I don't think I'll ever be done, but I have fun doing it, and that counts a lot!

Oh I know, I hear what you're saying, and yeah it's amazing some people can do to these engines.
But, for the money, I'd rather just pick up a clean muscle bike like the ZRX. I've seen clean ones go for around $3-4k, and those bikes really haul. I've seen some pricing for those engine builds, and I'm certain I'd rather just buy another bike
150lbs of twist is a sh!tload though, that's for sure.
