call me if you get stuck this weekend... cutting and soldering them is supid easy if you have the stuff... I do, ill give you a hand... if i recall you are local right?

I did pretty much the exact thing without lube only I used a length of 18ga wire instead of weed eater string. Also used no lube. I staggered the cuts on the wires to slim down the splice and protected the wires with a few wraps of electrical tape.

I have never tried this, but it is a thought. Take a small nut that will go through the hole where the wires will come out. Tie fishing line, the same number as you have wires to the nut and feed it through bars and have it drop out at the hole. Have the fishing line long enough to tie to each wire. A small piece of heat shrink or black tape should work over the tie point. Then feed each wire through one at a time. Like I say, just a thought.
