A lot of good advice here I will offer don't mix too many meds with your riding pleasure (though i realize you may not have meant it).

When I first got mine I had the mids on it. I started having back pain issues too. I rolled my bars forward and it helped alot. I was able to sit up straighter. Back issues went away. After about 3 months though I went to the forward controls, but I am 6'6 so you should decide for yourself.

keep the mids and put the hd adjustable hiway pegs on and use your heels to shift and to brake. love mine i have a 2001 fxd.stage 1 with pass pegs mids and hiway pegs u have three places to put your feet to stretch and work your knees and back. i am going to flastaff az may 11 to c my daughter fromm wenatchee wa anybody want to ride along let me know
