if you think adjusting spark advance affects cam timing<valves open and close>you need to call doc back.

Man, I was REALLY hoping you would not come back and say that. You are right it isn't rocket science, but cam/valve timing and ignition timing are two COMPLETELY different things. Seriously, I wasn't trying to call you out, but that is something any half-*** mechanic should know.
