Timing is adjusted in the spark advance tables. Timing effects when the vavles open and close. It's not rocket science. BTW, I've tuned well over 1500 bikes for one of the biggest (if not the biggest) performance shops in Ohio, untill I decided to buy my own dyno and tune for myself. Doc knows them, he was just here a week ago training the other guys how to tune.

if you think adjusting spark advance affects cam timing<valves open and close>you need to call doc back.

Man, I was REALLY hoping you would not come back and say that. You are right it isn't rocket science, but cam/valve timing and ignition timing are two COMPLETELY different things. Seriously, I wasn't trying to call you out, but that is something any half-*** mechanic should know.
