Fork Clunk
Strange front end noise has appeared lately on my 06 SG (6000 miles). Sounds like the noise old springs in cars used to make when you would bounce on the bumper. Any thoughts? Thanks.
I'd check the fallaway (steering head bearings) first...might be the most likely.
If the springs are too weak they could be making noise when the tubes are fully extended, or could be twisting and hitting the sides.
Also, when the front brake is applied, the pad can potentially twist and knock against the caliper....will sound like its a "fork" issue.

You are experiencing the all too common "front end clunk".
