60-65mph in 4th

So I’m on my way home ridding my 08 Street Bob trying to beat the rain. I am heading right into the storm and the wind is almost blowing me off my bike. I get to a stop light and realize I don’t have much time. The light turns green and I start moving. I shift gears looking at the speedometer because I can not here the engine as a result of the wind. I’m going 60 to 65 for about 3-4 miles in 4th gear. With my heart pounding trying to beat the storm I had not realized and could not hear the fact that I was In 4th. As I pulled up to my place and was down shifting I finally realized it. I waited for the storm to pass and went back out. Everything sounded ok and it seemed to run fine, but because I no nothing about engines, I wana know might I have done some damage and should I have it looked at?

If you diddnt hit the rev-limiter, and the bike rode smooth...... I wouldnt worry neither.

You probbly weren't revving more that 3200 c'mon man its a 96 cu in vtwin you could run it in 4th for an hour and it'd still be ok!

Hurt the motor? I don't even consider goin' into 5th gear until at least 60-65...you didn't hurt nothin'. It was probably good to blow some of the carbon out stayin' in 4th gear instead of the luggin' the motor.

Just my .02 of course...
