I don't know where you're from, but SG's sell VERY well where I am! Probably the biggest seller actually.
TheFXD's dont stick around the dealer here either. They slap windvests and drag bars on em, then relocate the front signals and move the speedo down to the base of the risers. The only increase in price is the cost of the parts. I think the longest I've seen one of these sit was 2 days before it was sold.
ahh dont know... one thing that hurt is it is not all BLACK! seems like everyone wants black black black now... it will pass... then the silver and chrome will once again retain the obsession of people
Joe is rigth its like in the 90's when every one wanted drag bars and only old men had apes. Now the fad is everyone wants apes. It all comes and goes.
Wanted a Wide Glide but liked black more than chrome. Wanted cast not spoked wheels. Wanted a round rear fender not the boat tail. So I got me a Super Glide and put Wide Glide bars and forwards on it. Now I have a bike that suits me just fine. No matter what the current fad is. Yeah, and it's black, too.
It makes me wonder about the segment that this model appeals to.
Well, if Dynas are "the jet fighters of the Harley line," then clearly they only appeal to us Top Guns.
One of my friends called me over to admire his new Road Sofa and even though I'm 20 years older than he is all I could say was, "Yeah, I'm gonna get one of those when I get old too."
Mine never even made it to the show room floor. I was thinking about getting a custom but liked the tank and wheels on the SG. So after 3 seats, 3 exhaust and a whole buch of other Du-Dad's I love her!! I say good Morning to her and check on her before going to bed!
I've added rigid bags to my FDX it's now a "Dyna Glide"... LOL. I have the best of both worlds. I admit, my next ride will be a true bagger, but for now, I'm a happy camper!
i would havta agree where you from. around here they have been hot seller ever since they came out in 71. and thru all the changes.i've had a low rider and a superglide which is in the same family.one thing about them you can do what you want with them. dress them up or dress them down they make one great ride.
When's the last time HD promoted any part of the Dyna line. Even the FatBob got little attention compared to the CrossBones. Also, the godawful stock buckhorn handlebars don't help.
HEY!! I like those buckhorn bars. They're "true Harley bars". Leave them alone!!!
