I'm with you. The only benefit torx has is in assembly. Easier to hold in the tools. It amazes me how many techs don't even know that there is a torx plus. I even went to NAPA and told them I need a t-45 plus and he gave me a t-45, when I told him that wasn't it, he thought I was an idiot. I had him get his catolog out, found them in it and had him order me what I needed. (He's been at the NAPA for 20 plus years).

Are the pluses the ones with the post in the hole? I agree it's a doofus deal for a bike that has to be serviced regularly. They are for s*ithouse doors in public restrooms where dinks pull the fasteners out for fun.

No, the pluses have rounds ends on the tips, regular torx have pointed ends. The ones with the "tit" in them are tamperproof ones.
