I picked up a set of throw over bags for the Wide Glide today. They;re tourmaster X-large slants. They are the cordura(sp) not the leather like ones. Def. handy, but still not sure if I like them.
What is it you don't like about them? In general the bags look ok, looks like plenty of room. I want/need some bags. I need to be able store my 17" laptop I use at work when I take the bike to work. As of now I just use a back-pack.
I don't like bags period, but they sure come in handy for long rides or if you have to carry some stuff. those tourmasters look fine. Get ready to see some paint chaffing. Maybe not but don't be surprised.
I can understand why you like them, and see why you dont. The bottom line is the bags are functional, and are probably going to outlast any vinyl or leather bags, under any conditions. It wouldnt surprise me if they're somewhat bulletproof. That part could come in handy.
I'd probably say the same thing if they were the leather type as well. I just don't like to look at bags on bikes (Please, no references to women ) I do like that they zip off independently from the yolk that lays under the seat, and then tie together to be carried together as a single unit, they are structured, so they'll keep their shape, and best of all, I only paid a hundred beans for them !
