he was asking 7K before the new tires and the transmission case and brace. he said he spent $1200 on fixing it so thats why the price went up.
i dont think he will go as low as $7K.
if i can get it for $7500 should i buy it or is that too high?
is there a site that tells you what the bike is actually worth?
he is gonna charge you more due to purchasing maintenance items. This guy is a tool. Sorry if he is someone you know. FK him buy something else or buy it for 7K.
It really isnt a bad looking bike, but if u were to pay 8K u might as well get a little loan and look into getting an 09 or earlier street bob or low rider or something along those lines...I think they are pretty decent in price now *someone will correct me im sure* BUT If you really want the bike just tell him all you really have is 7k and thats all you can afford right now and see what happens, that or trade him that stang its worth about 7k right? kidding btw
Front tire is wrong tread going the wrong way Bike looks to be in good shape but 8000 for a 12 year old motor seems high and exactly what was the cause of the trans failing and are you sure it wont happen again? Just a set of cams should not be the culprit.
Price is too high for an old bike with funky modifications to it. You can get a twin cam 96, 2007 or 2008 for not much more than 10,000. a $2,000-$3,000 loan won't cost you that much. Definitely get the bike inspected by an indy or HD dealer if you absolutely have to have it.
You are also violating one of the longest standing rules in American society - NEVER buy a motor vehicle from someone you know and/or that you will see again. Best way to ruin a family relationship or friendship.

+1 on buying from friends/family, always risky. Id say the price is pretty high too.

The good thing is the bike has the EVO motor so you don't have to worry about cam chain tensioners like on the newer bikes. Or having to mess with fuel injection.
If you like to do your own work on car/bikes an older bike is a good way to go to keep the costs down.
Looks to be in good shape.
The average retail is around $6200. Here is the link to NADA.
