Default Special Tool ???

Does anyone know if there is a special tool required for removing / installing the cap screws holding the throttle body on?

Getting ready to do my 5000mi service and wanted to check all the nuts and bolts to see if anything is loose.

Even with air cleaner cover and backing plate removed, horn gone off the other side, maybe even with the tank removed though I didn't get that far.... those little buzzards are nearly impossible to get at.

I ended up hacking off a 1/4" Allen key and using a tiny little 1/4 box end wrench on them, but confidence is pretty low that I could remove and reinstall in a week if I had to do it that way.

I see guys doing major mods that would require pulling the throttle body, is there any special tool or modified gadget to get in there OR are you just struggling with it too?

ex: Shutup turn the wrench and quit whining about your knuckles?

P.S. I did try to search, but so much under tools, other words didn't pan up much of anything.

Pics would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

I've had my throttle body off twice and used what you said, i 1/4 inch screwdriver bit and a 1/4 inch open end wrench and it worked fine. make sure you coat your new gaskets in vasoline so that they seat right. Thats why i had to do mine twice, cause they didn't seat right and leaked.

Default Thank You!

Excellent, thank you guys so much, love this forum.

JimW411, thanks for the advice on gasket sealing.
Madden23, thanks for the P/N, will look into that.
Rounder, thanks for the pic. makes it easy to see why my regular "L" Allen keys were so hard to use.
