I'm thinking that's all it is...all the black hardware and the vivid black tins.
I've lost track how many times I've been asked that...over a half dozen times at least. Half of those were from other Harley owners.
Then there's the opposite end....I've been told mine was a Sporty, because "Sporty's have the exposed springs....Dynas have covered shocks like the Fat Bob"...
Even as an owner I can get confused sometimes. Like tell me the difference between a Road Glide and a Street Glide? I've put pics of them side by side and just don't see the difference, except maybe one has a slightly taller stock windshield. Not many people know or care that sportys are right-side drive and that's probably the easiest way to pick out a dyna from a sporty, if not by looking at the engine itself. Trust me I'm no rub (and if I am, were's all my cash???).
dude... come on... they look nothing alike! the road glide has a fixed mount fairing and duel headlights... the street does not... they look nothing alike!!!
Yeah ... about the Electra Glide and Street Glide ...
I always thought I could tell 'em apart in a heartbeat ...
Then, I was at the dealers about a week ago and saw what I at first thought was a Street Glide ... took a closer look and it was an Electra Glide with really subdued hardware and a kind of matte finish ... don't know if it was a dealer special that was tricked out to look like a Street Glide or if the Electra Glide is offered like that stock ... looked pretty good ....
I've always liked the looks of the Street Glide, but like most of the touring models, a little cramped for my 6'3" frame ... just a little ...
Also, one of the best things I like about my bike ... I can take the fairing (and bags) off and have a kick-@ss DYNA!
