My dad was telling me his tires wore down faster when he lived in Mississippi than when he lived in Illinois.....The road surfaces down in MS are a little more rough. He said New Hampshire and Minnesota were similar to Illinois. He lived in all those states for more than two years at a time. His wide glide has almost 80k on it and his road glide has almost 45k...He goes through tires often so his input on the subject was pretty interesting.
Just something to think about when getting tire wear advice from people in other states
I got 12K out of the stockers front and rear and am just about down with my rear ME880 at 12K. Front 880 looks to have another couple thousand miles left, though. These are on an 05 FXDCI.

Got 11K from both stock Dunlops. Replaced both with Michelins and am just 1500 miles into them, so it's too early to tell what kind of life I'll get from them. I do like the handling of them over the Dunlops.
1st Rear Dunlop k591 7,500 (stock) Too expensive to buy again
2nd Rear Dunlop D205 6,000 (was $100 installed so i tried it and loved it)
3rd Rear Dunlop D205 6,000 (was $120 installed and stuck with it)
4th Rear Dunlop D205 100 so far ( $90 on ebay $18 to mount, still love this tire)
1st Front Dunlop D401 13,500 (stock) cupped really bad at that milege.
2nd Front Dunlop GT501 5,300 (way to soft, couldn't make it as long as the rear)
3rd Front Metzeler ME880 700 so far i really like it.
k591 on the rear i get 7500 401 front i get about 15000 before it starts to cup.
i live in florida. thats two up 65% of the time,i weight 210 and the old lady is 137 but dont tell her i said her weight.
Running metzeler 880's front & rear. The front has 7500 on it and looks new, the 1st rear lasted about 4k and the 2nd, I'll probably get 6k out of it. Usually ride pretty aggressive but learning to ride normal now!
I just want to know because I seem to eat them up fast. I have 3400 miles and my front is worn down past the wear bars on the sides and just above the bars in the middle. The rear is even wear from middle to sides but down to the wear bars as well.
Im not complaining because I ride VERY hard. We have curvy roads everywhere and I just cant go slow. I just want to see you guys are getting about the same amount of miles per tire.
