Default Race Tech question

Put a set of Progressive 418s on the Bob. Digging them. Now I need to do the front. Has anyone used Race Tech springs along with their valving? The front end of this thing could definitely use some better valving. Keeping stock height FWIW.

Did the RaceTech kit on the front of my SuperGlide. Definately better than stock. Comes with an adjustment chart with about 4 different ways to change the ride. Bought the kit before the big Ricor push hit.

Here's a link to the differences between the two:

Given the info that been out since then I would have probably paid a little extra and gone with the Ricors and the Works spring kit.

No matter what you chose, I would recommend taking the forks completely apart to clean them and inspect the bushings/seals. Mine were nasty with alot of gunk in the bottom at 10,000 miles.

I'll be doing the RaceTech or Ricor setup eventually.

Why'd you go with the 418s, Dutch? Just curious, seems like most here go with the 412s or 440s.

I have Racetech on my Street Rod, Works triple rate springs and RICOR on the Dyna. All are pretty good.

With a Dyna, I think i would try the RICOR first.

I checked out the Progessive booth at Daytona this year and got a chance to see the differences in the internal valving of all the shock models. The 412s are not all that much of an upgrade from stock. The 440's, while a great shock, were a bit higher then I wanted to spend. the 418s seemed to sit right in the middle plus I loved the look of the shock. A good upgrade without breaking the bank. Plus they also have rebound damping.

Doesm't the race tech kit involve drilling the damper rod multiple times? I think that would keep me from doing that particular kit.

I think this is corrct. Racetech is located on Southern California so I just took my Street Rod to their shop. One of their techs was very familiar with my model). Had I not been local, I would probably not have used their parts (unless I knew a suspension shop I trusted).

FWIW, I have Progressive 440s on m 07 Road Glide, and, to me, they are not an improvement. I plan to put the stock shocks back on and sell the 440s.
