So I just bought the docking hardware from Harley so if I want I can put on the sissy bar. Does anyone make an aftermarket bracket that wil connect to the docking hardware so I can buy saddlebags?
I'm 99.999% sure that EZBrackets makes a kit to work with the hardware you bought. (bascially a slightly longer bolt with the hardware to allow you to take the bags on/off easily. They have little covers that clip on over the hardware when it's gone. The other option I've see in the Dennis Kirk catalog is a set of quick detach replacement bolts for the hardware you've got. Not cheap though at $140. (hard to describe how they work)
What ratt has is a perfect set-up. My easy brackets and quick detachable sissy bar mount in different locations (different post spacing). I'm in the process of trying to making it work.
Depending on your model, I'd measure your quick detach spacing then call easy brackets/ghost brackets to see if it's the same. If it is - you're golden. If it isn't - welcome to my world.
Easy brackets and HD quick detach. I did have the issue of the rear-most strut bolts not tightening up straight. Took the teardrop spacer/washer and beveled the bolt mating surface to get the bolts to tighten in a straight line away from the bike (parallel to the front bolt). Detach works better and the Easy Brackets drop right on.
