Do heel stirrups make a big difference on footpegs?
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
I just got through putting mine on (FXDF). I went with HD's heel rest support and Kuryakyn longhorn pegs all around. I haven't even driven it because it's raining right now but I can tell this will be the best mod ever. I sat on the bob put my feet on the pegs and could balance the bike straight up. the longhorns really help to clear the AC cover with you knees. I don't think I'll have any issues with clearance because I ride my HD like an HD and not a sport bike.
I put them on my v-rod and it was a huge difference, one of the best improvements I made.
I haven't bought them for my Fat Bob yet. I just ordered the forward control extensions from Kury. I want to get those on first, then I'll order the stirup pegs.
Also thought about a Kury product called "peg mounted cruise mounts, click below to see and there are a few different views of them to see on the site.
Installed the Kury switchblades with the intention of retracting the heelrests every once in awhile, but they are so comfortable, I just keep the heelrests open all the time.
They do feel like floorboards on an angle. Plus you have a lot more positions for your legs on the long rides. I modded my bike for comfort first and the heelrests kick ***. I rcommend using them with long footpegs. I am using the airfoil Xlarge.
