07 will be the 50th phor the Sporties. I would expect big things in that line! Sporties are also the only ones that to this day do not have an EFI option.
I hope the big surprise is NOT an EFI Sportster.
Uh, Uh! Screaming Eagle Sporty phor 07.
I thought I heard about a Blue Denim color option next year. Wonder how many lines that will be on.
The tech I was working with when ordering parts for my Bob had just returned from training. The '07 Sportsters will be FI.
That is why I kept my 03 XL1200 when I bought the the 06 WideGlide. ........ Last year of the Sportster. I think the 04 and up Sportsters look like mini Dynas. The Sportster feels small to me now that I have rode the WG for a while, but man is it FAST! Once I get the WG set up how I want it, it wil be time for a bagger...then maybe I will have enough bikes!
Have you ever ridden a bike with a 250 or 280 tire. Fun to look at, but who wants to wrestle the bike all the time just to make a turn, or go around a curve. Wide tire bikes want to go straight. It get really interesting when there is any Debris or moisture on the road when you force the bike to lean over. It will kick out from underneath you. Ultra wide tires are fine on Show Bikes, and Drag bikes. But if you actually ride your bike, keep tire width safe and sensible. Maybe the FMCR GYSGT. can go into more detail. I have read several of his comments, and he can put the facts into clear understandable language. Semper Fi.
The Standard Oil Cooler would be nice. I have one on my 2006 Dyna and love it. By keeping the oil cool, the bike does not go into extreme lean mode. Those of you without an Oil Cooler, may experience the rear cylinder becomming an Air pump off and on during hot conditions. It is part of your engines Temperature Management System. I think it will occur mostly in city traffic. as long as you are moving 35mph + Engine temps should be just fine. I am sure I will get 100,000 + miles on my engine. I think we need to be careful not to get too crazy about super sizing an Air Cooled Motor. Go too large and the engine life will suffer. I work real hard for my pay. I am not well off. So I keep my bikes a long time. My bike is like family. I take good care of my bike.
