hey guys, i did a search and couldn't really find what i was looking for. i'm looking into buying a set of the 12" progressive 412s. i was just wondering if anybody has used this setup. i want to make sure that if go go down to 12" i won't have any problems with clearances. also, i have a motorcycle jack, so would i just jack the bike up and unbolt the stock suspension, then bolt the new one on, or is it more complicated than that?
I believe the stock shocks on a SB are 12". Most people seem to go with the 11" progressives. I have the 11" ones and I have no clearance issues whatsoever.
Stock SB shocks are 12.6" or atleast they are the 2009 models. I also bought a set of 12" 412's for my bike, which i was told would lower it around an inch or so....I have just not had time to install em to actually find out yet.
Your 08 Street Bon has 12inch shocks on it so there wont be any ride height change. Lots of folks run 11 inch shocks without any major issues but you may get some bottoming out with 11 inch ones.
I cant say for sure but I am pretty positive the 09 SB has 12 inch shocks as well joker2041. Considering the seat height went down from 08 to 09 on the SB slightly (a little lower profile seat). I dont think they could of went up a 1/2 inch shock length since that would of raised the seat height around 1 inch.
