Talking yea what Vic said

[quote=As long as you stagger the solder joints, and shrink wrap them I don't see a problem with it.[/quote]

i had to cut and add wire to get mine long enough, also had to mechine a few holes to run them through. there may not be any "right way" to do it, but there is a wrong way. never never use those crimp style connectors to put your wires back together. always tin then solder them together. i used shrink wrap over each wire then shrink wrapped the whole bundle together. so far so good.

Nope, no feathers ruffled here.

I actually used a type of shrink tube from my other job, it has a sealant inside that shrinks and seals the connection when heated. Not sure of the name of it but it is the greatest thing for a wet atmosphere application.

Did you guys leave the black plastic wiring cover over the wiring when you strung it through the bars? I figured I'd leave it on just as an extra bumper zone to protect the wiring.

I disassembled the connectors, but still cut and spliced 8" into my wires. I did all my solder joints at the same place, and had no problem (fatty bars). Heat shrink on each individual wire, and then another larger over them all.

I left the original black covering over most of the wires, but where they exit the bars I ran some braided nylon wire loom over them, between the bars and the backbone.
