a strutting idea!

i was talking with a friend of mine about guys slamming there bikes with bolt in struts to replace the shocks.. i like the lookof the slammed bikes but not the struts... he suggested taking an unused set of shocks , cutting out the right amount of coil length to totally slam the bike... then , by some means, probally by welding the piston solid. make the shock fixed and solid so it dosent move anymore... then youll have the slammed solid tail look, but to me it wont look out of place cause the shock (although inoperable) will still be where its supposed to be...just an idea...
any thoughts welcome
