my bike seems to be fairly loud when switching gears & I think it`s gettin louder or i`m just focusing on it more.

Not sure about the oil temp but for the transmission a lot of us run with severe gear oil in the transmission to quiet it down.

I run lucas 75/90 but im going to switch to something heavier on my next change.

if you switch to royal purple 85-140 it'll surprise you and make you think you're riding a jap bike, that's how great it works in the transmission. honest. any synthetic 85-140 will work, i.e. redline, royal purple, amzoil. i prefer royal purple only cause it's available at almost all auto chain stores. auto zone, advance, pep boys, o reilleys. and use it for the trans only. little to no clunk when you click into gear when it's warm either. cold, same as stock, warm like at an intersection, yeow, what a difference.

I dunno about you guys but ever since hearing harleys way back in the 70's every harley had that distinctive clunk when going into gear,I think it is quite normal, and I don't think it's causing any damage!
