I won't give the details but last night I had a little accident. Slow speed turn and I dumped my bike. Needless to say, I just laid on the ground laughing.
Messed up my tank, even further. That left said is catchin hell My clutch perch and lever got scraped up pretty good, as well, the clutch lever.
Anyway, my 16" apes got bent when the bike slammed down. Is it possible to straighten them?
The best part, I did it right in front of my buddy who was bringing me some gas. LMAO. I ran out.
For what my .02 is worth (probably .01) I wouldn't try to bend the handlebars back. I would be worried about the structural integrity if you had to rank on your handlebars for whatever reason. I for one am just glad you are ok. Embarassing yes, funny story in a couple of months with your buddies, you bet!
Makes sense. I didn't think it was a good idea and have already resigned myself to having to buy a new set. Mplecha (forum member) has a killer set of Carlini 1.5" x 16" apes. Big money... the bars are $350+ and the 1.5" risers are $200+. Those bars do not shrink down to 1". They stay 1.5" throughout, until you get to the controls area. They shine like no tomorrow.

That sounds sick. I would go for that for sure if you can spare the coin.
Yeah, I believe they are Gangster apes. He's a very cool dude. Lives about 2 hrs from me. If I can ever get some money up for the parts, he said he'd give me a hand doin the cam swap. His words 'I have a wicked workshop".
