If anyone could please help me diagnose this problem.
About a week ago I moved my front turn signals to the forks.... Friday went for a ride and noticed my right tun signal does not work... When I press it the security system light (little key) on the dash lights up and stays on till i shut the bike off.
Any ideas?
Did you cut and splice/solder the wires when you did the relocation? Has it worked at all since the relocation or was Friday the first time you got to ride it? I am thinking there is a loose or disconnected wire. This happened to mine after I did my relocation, but it was the running light on the right front. When I hit the turn signal it was fine. Mine turned out to be just a loose wire.
since you were just workin with the lights... i would say loose wire or maybe even loose or blown bulb.
my buddies sporty had a rear signal that wasnt working. ran the tests in his manual to see if it was the lights/wires or the turn signal control module. it was the latter and cost like 125 bucks for the module... hope yours is just a loose wire!
My left rear would occasionally work intermittently, I found that the metal contacts inside the brake light, where everything connects had become a little bent downward and were no making contact. I could get the light to blink if I tugged on the wires and couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Then, I took a screwdriver and pushed on the metal contacts a little, plugged the plug back in and presto...maybe that is it?
People seem to be focusing on the rear signals. I didn't read anywhere that the OP was having issues with the rear. I'd check the molex connector you dealt with when doing the relocate on the front signals. If you disassembled, moved wires, then reassembled, may not have assembled it correctly (only 3 wires; I accidentally transposed two wires when I did mine. Rushing will do that). The fact you mention the security light comes on once you hit the brakes(?) or the turn signal (?) leads me to believe you may have a short.
