your a genious for the video,i hope your bike goes 2gether smooth 4 you
and yes you should be on TV!!!!
good job with the vid but u live on a busy bit of road dude once you've done this job with the connectors it doesn't seem as bad as you were thinking, thats what i found anyway. cheers bro
I do live on a major truck route. Sorry for the quality in that respect. I'll redo it when I get a chance. Email Michelle Smith. Maybe I could do her....show.
no good job, its great you took the time to do something that will help out some guys here, something visual as opposed to just words like you said........
I disassembled my handlebars today because I dropped my bike last week and bent the bars pretty good. I'm gonna try to get them trued by a local muffler shop (as an offline friend suggested).
I remember when I made the switch to apes and disassembling the deutsch connectors drove me nuts. I know it's always been a hot topic on here.
I did a quick little video about it. Not that difficult at all. I think video is a lot easier to unerstand than someone trying to explain it with written words and some photos.
If the vid isn't available yet, give it a few. I just uploaded it to youtube about 5min. ago. Also, I chopped my head off in it. Bad camera angle. Hope this helps someone not pull their hair out doing an internal wiring job.
Longhair, that is a Molex connector,
no need to needlenose the secondary lock all the way out of the housing.
pull it out slightly, then a wire to push in and release the primary lock
Mudd, I'm pretty sure its a deutsch connector. In my days as a pc tech, floppy drives had molex connectors to connect them to the power supply. They resembled what we have on our turn signal harnesses.
I've built deutsch connectors regularly for harness in the marine industry and they are typically grey with "Deutsch" on them. Different question for Longhair- what caused that bad vibration your engine had a while back?
