Last summer when I was back home in MI I saw a few "click it or ticket" searches going on, but never saw any bikes pulled over for anything. But in MI we can get away with more, we don't have any emissions testsing or any of that. I'm not sure what the DB level limit is but I don't think many cops there even care about it.

hey guys,
i don't know what the cops are like in the states....but in canada, and british columbia in particular you would have to be riding like an idiot or wearing biker colours in order for the cops to harrass you....not sure about quebec as the cops out there are a bit different. I can say this confidently as i am a cop up here....there are tons of us that ride and have loud pipes...we ride them to the office and the chief could even care less. There is one city department whose traffic cops will ticket you for loud pipes....but generally only the traffic guys will bother with you....the regular patrol guys could care less...unless you are riding like an idiot. I wouldn't worry about putting aftermarket pipes on the bike, at least not up here.
Just my two cents....
i granby quebec canada you are going 50km (30mph)in third gear and they give ticket.you cant even hear my pipes....
Wow, so cops in Ohio are such highly trained professionals they can determine decibel levels without the use of a deci-meter???
According to their state supreme court, they're so highly trained they don't need a radar to say that you are speeding. Why should they need a stinkin' decimeter.
this is crazy, I ran open headers on my CJ-7 w/ built 304, and I only have single chamber flowmasters w/ no cats on my '00 mustang GT and have never had one problem in SC. my bike will be very loud soon enough, it does suck when I come home at 3am and have to do everything I can to keep them quite while riding through the sub-division.
