is low lead fuel with oxy added. It also has a VERY slow burn rate that also helps keep the engine warm. Planes operate at a MUCH lower temp and a MUCH higher elevation and that is what Av gas was made for.
IT WILL NOT HELP A STOCK ENGINES HP!!! AND IT WILL NOT HELP A HIGH RPM ENGINE BUILD HP!!!!
I build race engine for a living Moto Headz Racing.
W........T........F????????? Rider57, are you drunk or high? That made NO sense!
Filled both wings (tops across) thats what it costs me. Baron with IO470's
100LL is blue, 110 is clear (no Lead). White exhaust is a very, very lean indicator. And there is no ethanol in any avgas.
Been flying since I was licensed at 17 in Alaska.

That I understand! I'm used to seeing a little gray on the exhaust tip tho. C177 pipeline patrol!
Someone else mention mogas. That's acutally automotive gas, 87 octane. You have to have a STC to run it.
You make the most power with gas that has the lowest octane that your bike can handle without detonation. All octane measures is the ability to withstand predetonation. If your bike doesn't knock or ping on regular, you're just throwing $$$ away on higher octanes. Any good tuner will tell you to run the lowest octane you can that doesn't cause knocking. Anything more is a waste of $$$ and your performance won't be any better. Keep in mind tho that you should run whatever the manufacturer recommends and no more - for example, you can get a car to run on lower octane fuel without detonation because the engine has knock sensors and will retard the timing to compensate = less power. So, if your bike calls for 91octane, that's what you should run. Anything less or more will hurt performance.
