Instead of getting the parts powder coated, I went and bought the texture black paint from HD. I ll be damned it looks just like the black ones on the street bob. I talked to the dealer and they said the all there outer covers are painted the same way. I baked it in the oven and it looks brand new. Yipppe no more big clonk of gray sticking out anymore.
I'd like to see a picture if you can manage it. I'm slowly going to black on all the parts that are needing freshning up, and after 18 years there are a few. I've been thinking of paint as well, instead of sandblasting and powder coat.
yeah tell me about it. Its a new development and thy have not developed the farm over yonder yet. Soon it will be and we will be packed in like sardines again. Thanks for the compliments people. I love to work on the bike. I have a problem though. I dont think I will ever be totally satisfied. It seems right when I like it theree something new to do to it. DAMN>
Oh and heres a story.
I went to get some oil from HD. just some simple oil turned into 150 Bucks. Ended up getting a service manual, synthetic oil, filter wrench, filter. I mean geex all I wanted was some stinkin oil.
