I'm 6'7" and am looking to make my 07' Wide Glide more rider friendly for me. Does anyone know where I can find forward controll extentions? And how much taller of a bar can i go with while not changing cables and lines? Any other ideas are also appreciated.
Kuryakyn makes extended forward controls... Like 2" i think. Might be able to add 2 inch more in the riders without moving up in cable length. But you will need to get longer cables and brake line if you want anything taller.
Sounds like you know what things to change, it's just a matter of getting what fits. I'm 6'4" with 34" inseam and recently changed my Kuryakyn standard forwards for the extended versions that I think are 2" longer than the standard controls. With the seat and bars I am using, they fit me perfectly and I couldn't stand them any farther away from me. They also sell a 3" extension kit that works with HD forward controls (but not Kuryakyn forwards - go figure) that will put them out there a bit further even. And they sell something called cruise mounts that you can mount to your current forward controls and it gives you a separate set of pegs to stretch your legs out when you are cruising along.
I can't help you with the bars but consider a different seat as another option as well. There are seats out there that move you back further, up closer, or even give you room to move back and forth a little more than a stock seat.
I'm 6'7'' as well and I have +3'' forwards and find them to be very comfortable. There are many company's that have them, just find the one's that suite you the best. I also have a Barebones which puts you a little further back from the bars and pegs. I don't know what bars you can get with stock cables, but I run 16" and they are perfect.
