Also get yourself a good quality polarized pair of sunglasses/goggles with a buit in or removable gasket to prevent dust blowing into your eyes and irritating them. Also have been told watch out for the tar snakes in the road especially on turns/bends.

There are vests that evaporate water to keep you cool (Frogtogs?). As mentioned, if you are going to be there for a while and ride during the 115 degree days you might consider an oil cooler. Keep an eye on the fuel gauge. Long walk to gas stations. A windshield will help keep the hot air off but also keeps the air from cooling you. A paradox. Would be nice at night when the temps. drop. I have a mess jacket with a wind proof liner and put the liner in when it turns cool at night. Kevlar pads in all the right places. Also is water proof with liner but that will probably not be an issue for you.

weather out here in the mojave in summer is about 100-110 daily at night it is about 75-85 depending on how clear the sky is at night. great night riding temps are perfect for short sleeve shirt and still be comfortable during day i sugest a long sleeve shirt same material as the t shirts are made out of, light in color. and hydrate drink plenty of water, if you are coming to the desert be prepared for long trips to anywere casue there isnt anything close unless you are cruising around town.
