Not true. I wouldn't need new risers because the stock 2007 WG risers are 2+" tall x 1.25". Stock mini-apes are 1.25" non-stepped, except at the grips (1").
cool ... didn't know that - so it does work good for you .... not so much for those of us with risers that are 1" in the clamp area.
i don't know...$299.99 for a 16" ape hanger setup including cables is pretty tough to beat. Most bars are in the $200 range alone. Clutch cable is $50. Throttle cables are $xx (i don't know, haven't had to price them) and same thing with brake line.
yeah that is a good price!!! Must have been something different for my bike, but they were wanting like $400 for my setup. I didnt think it was anything too special, 14" apes with cables and wire kits... Black though.
Vic your right about Hill Country I purchased a set of billet hand controls from them about 3 to 4 years ago and was impressed with their service and quick shipping. I think it is important to let people know about businesses when they treat you well as much as when they don't. Good luck on the repairs.

Yes it is important, either way. If we also let those companies know when they do a good job, they'll hopefully continue to do so. I think that's called positive reinforcement.
I got my package today. Poly bushings, replacement 16" apes, a new/ longer clutch cable and a novello 12" harness extension. The bars HCCC sent me are apparently a prototype they did. They are going to begin selling their own brand. The sales guy told me they took things from each bar they liked (LA Choppers (which is part of Carlini), and Wild1) and came up with their own design. I didn't like them at first sight. The bars I am replacing had a square transition from 1.25" to 1" at the controls. Made a nice clean install. These new ones have a gradual transition from 1.25" - 1". I didn't like it. I called and wanted to exchange them. Chris explained the transition would be hidden when controls were installed. He was half right. On the brake side, yes the transition is hidden but not on the clutch side.
I'll post pics when Im done with the install. Hopefully tomorrow (wed. or thursday). I need to be done with it by saturday because me and the lil lady are riding down to Augusta (3hr ride) to party with Sniper77 for his birthday.
Chris just called back (again). The bars they have in stock are 8.5" pullback. Perfect. I said go with those. He wanted to sell me some 1" risers but I have a set here already. So, I save $30 going with the stepped bars.
I complimented him, "You said you'd call back and I really appreciate the fact that you actually did." He said my order would go out first thing in the a.m. and hopefully I should have them in approx 3 days, from texas.
I moderate a political discussion forum and here is the signature I use in my posts over there: "I used to be frustrated and surprised when people didn't do what they said they were going to do. Then I modified my perspective such that now I'm surprised when people do what they say they're going to do. Now I'm hardly ever surprised, and rarely frustrated."
