My dealer is offering "Employee Pricing" this weekend.
I wrecked my Superglide (was run off the road) and was thinking about trading up to a Road or Street Glide before. Now I am really considering it.
I was wondering what kind of markup the dealers are getting. Employee cost is 10% above dealer cost. Supposedly!
Also, is there really that big of a difference in the "New" FL's '09's vs. the 08's.
I have read the rags but would like some real opinions from the folks here.
I think one of the book value sites, kelly perhaps, will give you invoice on motorcycles. They say HD markup varies from model to model, if I recall correctly, a superglide had like a $1000 markup while a Fatbob had a $2000 markup. Markup being $ list above $ invoice.
Just make sure everyone works off the same book.. if you look at NADA VS Kelly Blue book vs Black book (the most common because its the auction book for dealers) You could have NADA stating a higher or lower value then the Kelly. Its a quick way for a dealer to make a extra few $$$ with some simple slight of hand. I know if there is a 08 sitting on the floor next to the 09 the dealer is really feeling some presure to move. The 10's are soon to be here.
Yes there is a big difference between the 08's and 09's. Go with the 09. Also might want to consider the Ultra Classic. I'm tossing between the Ultra and the Street Glide. Take them both for a ride. Ultra is much more comfortable. I will probably go that way when I am ready. For the best price on any bike go to Mills HD in Burlington NJ. They give the best deals. Trust me, I got mine there and several others have too. No BS feeling you out to see how much they can get you for. Tell them what bike you want and they give you the out the door price right away. I saved arout $1700 on mine thru them.
