I wish my screw up happened while I was riding, that way it would be justified! however, sitting in the garage just fiddlin, fixing something that wasnt broke in the first place.
Tomorrow, I'm gunna get a can of rattle, and paint on the wall
'if it aint broke, dont fix it!'
Good news is, now I can justify some heavy drinking tomorrow
I once had my tank loose and I dropped it and scratched the sheeeet out of one of my rocker covers. Now with the motor ripped apart I will fix it but it really made me feel stooooped.
I've heard horror stories about that happening, definitely putting a towel when I extend the wires for the new bars. Thanks for the reminder!
When I first got mine i tried being careful too, Its kind of like eating spaghetti in a plain white shirt no matter how hard u try you're going to end up with a little spot..needless to say I was just about to go for a ride had my house/car keys on a rock climbing hook and had it on my belt loop, I leaned forward to turn the bike on and seen my one key scrape my tank, its only like 1/4 but i look at it every time I get on the bike LoL, and when riding at night I noticed little pebbles get caught in the tread and kick up and some have got my front fender real good, im ok now tho its not going to be pretty forever unless i dont ride it
had my bike on the front lawn and had to push it uphill, was a real struggle and really had to lean into it, scratched the tank with my chain i hang the fob from on my jeans, man i was pissed, used some polish on it gently so it didn't polish too much but got most the scratched out.... also scratched my rocker covers by dropping something on them, rubbed back with fine wet and dry then polished and you would never know...
Like some guy famously said: "I feel your pain". Mine came when I was removing my tank emblems to change to another set. As much as I tried to be careful, sure enough there are a few scratches. The scratches are a little noticable, but the new emblems look great.
I`M at work and one of the guys was thinking about getting a bike.He ask if he could sit on my bike,I said go for it.5mins later he calls me out to the lot.He didn`t put the kickstand down all the way.I had some real nice scratches on my derby cover.
