I discovered that I'm rich

Rich as in air-fuel mixture. Finally got around to putting the BCT baffles in my Big Radius. Thanks to the good deal I got from JRK5892's brother.

Put those suckers in last night and was amazed at the sound. Freakin awesome. Loud as all hell breakin loose.

Went for a ride with my bud last night, and he said when I really got on it, going up an on-ramp, I had flames blasting out my pipes about 6 or 8 inches. I thought, Damn that's cool.

Guess I should tune it a little though it runs like a top as it is. I recently tuned out the coughing thru the carb which might explain it being too rich. She still pops a little on decel but that's to be expected with an almost open exhaust.

Before I start playing with this more, would you say I'm running too rich? I'm sure the answer would be yes but if I lean it out, I'm probably gonna make the carb start coughing again. My plugs look decent. A little dark but not like they are fouling up.

Anybody else with Big Radius and BCT experience this?

I wanna get a video of it though before I do anything.

if you are getting flames and your plugs look good it could be a float adjustment more than anything... you still gettnig carb cough? what do the plugs look like? got a pic?

Carb cough is rare. occasional but i don't think carbs are ever perfect. part of the appeal for me. I'll see if I can get a pic of the plugs. They are on the dark side but not black and sooty lookin.

I do notice that my headers are blue (lean indication) as opposed to yellow (rich indication) or is that a myth I picked up from my dad?

I can lean it out but i'm sure the cough will return and i'll get more popping on decel.
