Hi everyone, been reading about this all over the forum. Not sure if this is just me or is something acting up. I have 7000 miles on my bike and it feels like im getting a bit more vibration then before. I feel it more in the handlebars (grips). Was wondering if any 08 Fatbob owners needed to replace or adjust the front mount as explained on the forum. If so, did you have to loosen all the bolts on the mounts when runing the engine so it could settle in or just the bolts that hold the mount to the frame. Or did you also have to loosen the bolts the hold the mount to the engine. Hope I explained this clear enough.
Thanks.
Good question, I was wondering the same thing! Also, when you start the motor do you do have the bike on the lift? On the floor standing verticle? On the Jiffy stand?
You are talking about 2 different things. If your front rubber isolator is worn or cracked that is one replacement. When you align the engine by loosening the mount bolts and running the engine that is another. If you use the search function there are several threads on here that have pics.
But before you do anything, go over your bike with a wrench to make sure everything is tight (especially the mounts). Check your spark plugs and make sure you don't have bad gas. Vibration can be cause by all of those as well if it is only a slight
increase.
Make sure you support the engine with a jack if you loosen the mounts
