You need inner and outter primary, and the peg mounts w/ brake pedal and shifter.
If you buy the stuff new I'd say about $800 i guess, if you buy used I have no idea. I want it done my self but cant swing the doe.
Wow..... this is not cheap. I guess it will be tough to find a used one because most of Fat Bob comes with front control.
I wonder if there is any third party makes one.
Thanks.
Your stock forward fat bob does not have a hole in the case that the shift rod fits through, which limits your conversion options.
There may be some brackets and such around, its the case that's more difficult. When the fat bob first came out in 2008, most were mids as HD and the dealers thought that what was what was wanted. Everyone seemed to want want forwards, however, so now they just order forwards. There were a lot of mid to forward conversions, but that did not need a new case (they just fill in the hole). Some have found used parts from other dynas that bolt right up.
Others have used up front or forward seating to adjust to the forward controls.

I did mine with some help. You don't need an inner primary. Yours has the hole cast into it. All you have to do is drill the hole out as it is plugged in the original casting. I bought an inner and didn't use it. I picked up an inner and outer primary for about $50 each on ebay. You can find the mids on ebay as well. There are a lot of takeoffs with people changing their SB and to forwards. Someone on here might even have a set.
If you can collect the parts used you should not have too much into the parts. Then you have the labor and if you are not comfortable removing and reinstalling the clutch pack it is expensive in labor at HD. Don't give up on it because it is a much more fun ride in the twisties with mids.
Hey N2B, this is very helpful. Thanks for taking time to write. I will do more homework on this. I like mid control because I have no other alternative, I am short.
