Default Anyone come from a bagger to a Dyna?

Thinking about trading the Fat Bob on a Streetglide. I'm sure there aren't many, but anyone give up a bagger for a Dyna? Thoughts, experiences, regrets? Thanks all.

Just noticed Bucket13's post asking the exact same question.

Ya, I had an 06 streetglide, was an awsome bike fortunatly finances made me sell it. Bad thing is that I did not have any bike for a while. When I was able to afford another took a look at the fat bob. Would have loved to buy another streetglide but to much money. I ended up buying the fatbob, and I am not disapointed at all. The bike is fantastic and kinda makes me feel young being on one. One day Ill go back to a bagger but for now im happy with the bob.

I responded in depth to the other thread on this topic - but I was in the same boat as you mynzbtr1...went from a Road King to a Street Bob and am absolutely LOVING the change...just miss having those bags...that, and now I have to deal with the people that say "You went from a bagger to a Dyna?", "Why did you trade down?", "That bike is too small for me" - when the reality is, minus the bags & the spot lights, my Street Bob way more bike in so may ways. My policy has always been "less is more" - and I had to do a LOT to the stock Road King to make it a lean mean machine- the way I wanted it...this inluded taking off numerous parts, replacing others, and adding some as well. With the 'bob, most of that was already down, fresh out the box.

I'll pick up a Street Glide in 2011 for my 40th birthday...and ideally, I'll have 4 or 5 bikes (the bob, a street glide, a crotch rocket, a sick old school chopper or arlen ness custom & maybe something with a side car for my dog )...but I think the bob is gonna be my primary bike for a long time to come.

Bought a 98 FLHR, liked it so much I bought a 08 FXDWG. To me, dynas and baggers are pretty similar. My FXDWG is setup for touring which is the way I like to ride. I still have the 98. It's a cool bike for what it is.

I went from a Heritage to a Dyna. Does that count?

I miss the bags for sure. And my wife liked the Heritage better for 2-up.

But I don't necessarily "regret" my decision. I do "miss" the Heritage at times tho.

As much as I like my current bike, I doubt I will get another Dyna. Or another Heritage for that matter. Wish I had a Road King and I'm sure that'll be my next ride.

Went from a road king to the dyna, not exactly by choice, (totaled it)

Money is tight and the Bob is cheap for a big twin.
Nothing wrong with the Bob, but the road king ran as well, if not better rode better, and the bags, really miss the bags.

I have to say though I was thinking of dumping the King before i wrecked it anyway, I no longer had the time to tour and it was a big bike for the quick (hopping) I started to do.
So for now, I ride the bob, and keep it stripped down as much as possible, it just looks tough to me, and its close to the custom softail I had years ago.

Fun bike thats for sure.

I have a bagger and fortunately I got it paid off. One day I was looking and came across an 04-wide glide at a decent price it was stripped down but ran great and had a great price so I bought it. I love it and my electra-glide and I will never give up my bagger, the wide glide will go first. I love it on short runs and I see potential I have always wanted to create a show bike and this bike will be just that, a work in progress show bike; if I can keep the ole lady off it longer enough.
